Senior Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney – Atlanta

Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Real Estate Finance Associate to join a globally recognized, full-service law firm in its Atlanta office. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned real estate attorney to work on complex, high-value transactions across a broad range of asset classes within a collaborative and sophisticated practice.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in commercial real estate finance along with a well-rounded background in acquisitions, dispositions, and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent lenders, investors, developers, and owners in connection with:

    • Acquisitions and dispositions

    • Commercial real estate financings

    • Leasing and development projects

  • Draft and negotiate key transactional documents, including:

    • Purchase and sale agreements

    • Commercial leases

    • Development agreements

    • Financing documents

  • Manage transactions from initial structuring through closing, including:

    • Title and survey review

    • Due diligence coordination

    • Zoning and land use considerations

    • Entity structuring

  • Advise clients on construction, development, and joint venture arrangements

  • Support clients with ongoing asset management and operational matters

  • Mentor junior associates and help manage deal workflow

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of sophisticated real estate experience

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate finance (required)

  • Lender-side finance experience strongly preferred

  • Experience handling a mix of acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development matters

  • Prior law firm experience required

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar
