Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a Commercial Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Los Angeles, California.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 2-5 years of commercial litigation experience to join a nationally recognized litigation practice. The team represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, internal investigations, and complex litigation across a broad range of industries and subject matters. Associates gain meaningful responsibility early in their careers while working directly with clients on sophisticated and impactful matters.
ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in all phases of complex commercial litigation, from pre-complaint strategy through trial.
Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other substantive litigation filings.
Conduct factual and legal investigations and assist with sensitive internal investigations.
Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and witness preparation.
Take and defend depositions and assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
Develop litigation strategy and argue motions as experience permits.
Advise clients on litigation risk, dispute resolution strategies, and pre-litigation matters.
Work collaboratively across a variety of industries and litigation disciplines while maintaining substantial client contact.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
2-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm, government agency, or nonprofit organization.
Admission to the California Bar is preferred but not required at the time of application.

Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Outstanding academic credentials and demonstrated leadership.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage complex matters independently and collaboratively.
Salary: $225,000-$435,000, commensurate with class year, experience, and qualifications.
