Electrical Engineer
Seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for commercial and educational projects while producing high-quality construction documents. This role is responsible for engineering design, project coordination, mentoring junior staff, and supporting projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for assigned projects, including lighting, power, fire alarm, emergency power, and technology systems.
- Perform engineering calculations and produce accurate AutoCAD and Revit drawings.
- Prepare and edit project specifications.
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, addenda, and other construction documents.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to verify existing conditions and design intent.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Mentor and supervise EITs, designers, and interns.
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate with internal and external project teams.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and client standards.
- Stay current on industry technologies, codes, and engineering best practices.
- Support business development efforts through client interactions and industry events as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- EIT (P.E. License preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an MEP consulting environment.
- 3+ years of overall electrical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical system design, including:
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Fire alarm systems
- Power and power distribution
- Emergency power systems
- Low-voltage and technology systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Thorough understanding of applicable building codes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members.
