Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking an Asset-Backed Finance Associate Attorney to join a premier global law firm in Washington, D.C. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated asset-backed finance and structured finance transactions representing leading financial institutions, lenders, borrowers, and investment firms.
The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on asset-backed finance transactions or asset-based lending matters and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced practice handling complex financing transactions.
ResponsibilitiesRepresent borrowers, lenders, and financial institutions in asset-backed finance and structured finance transactions.
Advise clients throughout all stages of asset-backed finance, structured finance, and debt finance transactions.
Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and related financing documents.
Lead or assist with negotiations involving warehouse credit facilities and other secured lending transactions.
Coordinate transaction execution with clients, opposing counsel, and internal deal teams.
Provide practical legal advice on financing structures and risk management.
Manage multiple complex transactions while delivering exceptional client service.
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
3–6 years of experience in asset-backed finance, structured finance, or asset-based lending at a sophisticated law firm.
Experience advising borrowers and lenders in structured finance offerings or debt finance transactions.
Strong experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements.
Experience with warehouse credit facilities is preferred.
Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Active bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction where hired or eligibility to become admitted.

CompensationSalary Range: $260,000–$390,000 annually, depending on experience and other relevant factors.
