Job Description
Role Summary
Our client is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to support students in an educational setting. This role focuses on helping students develop the skills necessary to participate successfully in daily school activities, improve independence, and enhance overall academic and social functioning. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through targeted, student-centered therapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement therapy interventions to improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and activities of daily living.
Lead therapeutic exercises to support strength, flexibility, joint mobility, and functional movement.
Assist students with developmental delays in achieving greater independence in tasks such as dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Address sensory processing, attention, and regulation challenges to improve classroom participation and social interaction.
Support students with behavioral challenges by teaching coping strategies and self-regulation skills.
Evaluate, recommend, and support the use of adaptive or specialized equipment, including mobility devices and assistive communication tools.
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student goals.
Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with educational and clinical standards.
Required Qualifications
Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s or Clinical Doctorate).
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and report writing.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with a positive, student-centered approach.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with pediatric populations or in a school-based setting.
Familiarity with educational therapy models and interdisciplinary collaboration.
