Compensation: $260,000–$365,000
Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate to join a leading Am Law firm in is its Complex Commercial Litigation group in Chicago. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with at least 3 years of broad-based litigation experience from a top-tier law firm or comparable experience as a federal judicial clerk.
The ideal candidate will have substantive experience handling high-stakes commercial disputes through all phases of litigation, including:
- Pleadings and motion practice
- Written and document discovery
- Large-scale e-discovery and discovery strategy management
- Expert development and coordination
- Taking and defending depositions
- Trial preparation and courtroom support
- Drafting and arguing substantive motions
- Coordinating matters in Illinois state and federal courts
Candidates should bring:
- Strong case management and organizational skills
- Excellent legal research and writing ability
- Superior analytical and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Experience working independently while collaborating with litigation teams
- Active Illinois Bar admission
