A confidential national defense law firm seeks an experienced personal injury attorney to join its Philadelphia team. The attorney will handle defense-side civil litigation matters, including automobile collisions, premises liability, and general tort claims, representing corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts.

  • Manage a substantial caseload of personal injury defense matters from intake through resolution or trial.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct factual and legal investigations, review and organize medical and employment records, and analyze liability and damages issues.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials; coordinate with experts and witnesses.
  • Handle court appearances, oral arguments, and motion practice in state and federal courts within Pennsylvania.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide strategic guidance to clients on liability exposure and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate case files using case management and e‑filing systems and meet all court deadlines and calendaring requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff as appropriate.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to the Pennsylvania bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of defense-side personal injury litigation experience; experience with automobile, premises liability, and general tort defense preferred.
  • Demonstrated courtroom experience, including depositions and trial participation.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume litigation caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Professional client management skills and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, witnesses, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania civil procedure, evidence rules, and e‑filing systems.
  • Ability to work onsite with the Philadelphia team and travel as required for hearings, depositions, and trials.
