Restructuring & Insolvency Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Restructuring & Insolvency Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 law firm. This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior- to mid-level attorney looking to build a long-term career within a sophisticated financial restructuring practice with a clear path to partnership.

About the Role

The successful candidate will join a nationally recognized Financial Industry Group representing secured and unsecured creditors, commercial lenders, and financial institutions in complex restructuring, receivership, bankruptcy, and judgment enforcement matters. This role offers meaningful client interaction, challenging work, and the opportunity to collaborate with an experienced, collegial team on sophisticated insolvency matters.

Responsibilities
  • Represent secured and unsecured creditors, commercial lenders, and financial institutions in restructuring and insolvency matters.

  • Handle receivership proceedings and judgment enforcement actions in state and federal courts.

  • Assist with complex bankruptcy litigation and insolvency-related disputes.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.

  • Conduct legal research and develop strategic solutions for clients facing distressed situations.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across the Financial Industry Group on sophisticated matters.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing multiple cases and deadlines.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • 2–4 years of restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy, or commercial litigation experience.

  • Experience representing secured and unsecured creditors, commercial lenders, or financial institutions.

  • Experience handling receivership proceedings and judgment enforcement matters.

  • Experience with complex bankruptcy litigation and insolvency-related matters is preferred.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex matters.

  • Collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in long-term professional growth and partnership.

Compensation

$235,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
