Salary range: $250K - $300K
Location: Midtown East, New York, NY
About this role

We are looking for a Senior Employment Attorney with 10+ years of experience to help lead and grow the employment practice at a top-ranked boutique venture capital law firm. You'll be joining a highly profitable, entrepreneurial platform where you can build your practice with real support, flexible billable targets, and a clear path to partnership.

What will you be doing?

  • Advising companies and C-suite executives on employment matters, separation negotiations, and equity incentives
  • Counseling on restrictive covenants, non-competes, and employment issues across multiple US jurisdictions (especially NY and CA)
  • Supporting employment-related matters arising from the firm's venture capital and emerging company practice
  • Drafting and revising employment agreements, separation agreements, offer letters, demand letters, and restrictive covenant agreements
  • Handling employment litigation in state/federal courts, agency proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations as needed

Key Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of employment law across the US, particularly New York and California
  • Some level of portable business (even $300K-$400K is a "home run") — or demonstrated potential to develop one in the right environment
  • Experience advising both companies and executives on separations, restrictive covenants, and employment strategy
  • Admitted to and in good standing with the New York Bar
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow a practice, not just service existing work
Role responsibilities
• Lead the employment group at the New York office
• Advise on employment and labor laws in New York and California
• Guide clients through employment issues
• Draft and revise legal documents
• Handle employment litigation in New York state and federal courts
