Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Compensation + Benefits:
We’re working with a well-established civil engineering firm in Central New Jersey that’s actively adding to their municipal engineering team. This role is geared toward engineers who have experience in public-sector work — supporting townships, counties, and utility-related infrastructure projects.
This is not a heads-down drafting role. They’re looking for someone who can own pieces of municipal projects, work through agency coordination, and grow into a more client-facing engineer over time. If you’ve worked on roadway, drainage, or utility improvements tied to public work, this will feel very familiar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare civil engineering plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Support design for municipal infrastructure projects (roadways, drainage, water/sewer, capital improvements)
- Perform grading, drainage, and stormwater design aligned with local/state standards
- Assist with NJDEP / township permitting and approvals
- Respond to municipal review comments and revise plans accordingly
- Coordinate with internal teams and public agencies throughout project lifecycle
- Support preparation of reports, calculations, and technical documentation
- Contribute to projects from early design through construction documentation
Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of civil engineering experience (municipal or public-sector exposure strongly preferred)
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with stormwater management and utility design
- Familiarity with NJ municipal standards, permitting, or agency coordination
- Strong communication skills — able to work directly with internal teams and agencies
- Looking for someone who wants to grow into more responsibility vs. stay purely production
Compensation + Benefits:
- Full benefits (medical, dental, vision)
- 401(k) with company contribution
- PTO + paid holidays
- Strong backlog of municipal work (steady pipeline, not feast/famine)
- Clear path toward Project Engineer / PM track
