Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Financial Services Litigation Practice GroupPosition Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level associate with at least 3 years of litigation experience focused on commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor/lender liability. The associate will join a highly collaborative national practice representing financial institutions in complex litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, legal memoranda, and discovery requests

  • Represent financial institutions and lenders in real estate and commercial disputes

  • Manage complex litigation from inception through trial or resolution

  • Conduct legal research and analysis across multiple financial litigation issues

  • Collaborate closely with partners and contribute to a team-oriented environment

Qualifications

Required:

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

  • Admission to the State Bar

  • At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience relating to commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, or creditor and lender liability.

  • Extensive experience with legal drafting and procedural motion practice

  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Preferred:

  • Background in commercial litigation or financial services litigation

  • Experience at a national or large regional law firm

Compensation & Benefits
  • $235k/yr - $365k/yr base salary commensurate with experience
