Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney
Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Houston, Texas.
This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience to join a highly regarded Complex Litigation and Financial Services practice. The team represents leading clients across the energy, financial services, technology, and private equity sectors in sophisticated, high-stakes litigation, regulatory matters, and business disputes.
ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts.
Handle matters involving financial services, intellectual property, regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and mass tort litigation.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive court filings.
Manage all phases of discovery, including depositions, written discovery, and document review.
Assist with trial preparation, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and clients.
Work directly with sophisticated institutional clients to provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions.
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas on complex and multidisciplinary matters.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar.
3-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a major law firm.
Strong academic credentials.
Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
Experience managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Trial experience or a demonstrated interest in trial work is preferred.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong client service orientation with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset and sound professional judgment.
Salary: $235,000-$365,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
