Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney
Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a leading Am Law firm in Bellevue or Seattle, Washington.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience to join a highly regarded Real Property practice. The role focuses on sophisticated real estate finance transactions, with an emphasis on representing lenders in affordable housing, community development, and other complex financing matters.
ResponsibilitiesRepresent lenders, developers, and investors in sophisticated real estate finance transactions, including construction loans, permanent financing, and affordable housing projects.
Assist with transactions involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), tax-exempt bond financings, and other public financing structures.
Support commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development projects, and leasing matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents and other transaction agreements.
Conduct and manage real estate and finance due diligence, including title, survey, and organizational document review.
Coordinate with lenders, developers, investors, public agencies, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
Assist with transaction closings and financing documentation.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across multiple offices on complex real estate matters.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar.
Minimum of 2 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
Experience representing lenders, borrowers, or developers in commercial real estate finance transactions.
Experience or demonstrated interest in affordable housing finance, LIHTC transactions, tax-exempt bond financings, or public-private development projects.
Experience conducting real estate and finance due diligence, including title and survey review.
Experience assisting with loan closings, financing documentation, and transaction management.
Prior law firm experience preferred.
Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively in a team environment.
Salary: $215,000-$310,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
