Is this you?- Do you thrive working independently and remotely, organizing your own schedule and priorities?
- Can you travel up to 5 days per week, with as many as four overnight hotel stays Monday–Friday when needed?
- Are you at your best when you’re face-to-face with customers, building relationships while solving technical challenges?
- Service and support for analytical and metallographic instruments at customer facilities.
- Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and corrective actions to restore uptime.
- New system installs plus application of updates and upgrade kits.
- Hands-on training for users covering theory, operation, software, and equipment care.
- Commitment to procedures aligned with LECO’s ISO accreditation.
This full-time, remote, salaried role is field-based across the Midwest. Your primary territory includes Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia, with occasional travel to surrounding regions. The ideal candidate lives near Louisville, KY. A $5,000 signing bonus is available.
How you’ll grow- Begin with 3–5 months of instructor-led, hands-on training at LECO HQ in St. Joseph, MI.
- Shadow experienced Field Service Engineers around the U.S. to sharpen your skills.
- Return annually for advanced service training to stay current.
- Self-motivation and strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Professional demeanor with strict adherence to customer safety and site policies.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with AC/DC electronics—or the ability to learn quickly.
- Background in chemistry or the military is advantageous, not required.
- Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School, or
- Prior Military with training in a technical field, or
- Equivalent work experience or technical training.
- Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings
- Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction
