West Chicago Living and Rehab Center LLC, a leading provider of high-quality healthcare services, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Dietary Cook/Aid to join our team in Wheaton, IL.
About the Role:
As a Dietary Cook/Aid, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food service to our residents. You will be responsible for assisting in all food functions, preparing and serving meals, and maintaining a clean and safe food service environment. Key Responsibilities:
Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders
Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and substitute foods for residents who refuse served foods
Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to sanitary regulations and Infection Control Precautions
Prepare meal tickets and run the tray line
Prepare desserts and snacks, as instructed
Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must possess a valid Food Handlers Certificate
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents based on their individual maturity levels
Must have the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
