Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Supervisor – Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is responsible for managing nursing staff, coordinating patient placement, optimizing staffing resources, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The Clinical Supervisor serves as a clinical resource for nursing personnel, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and promotes continuity of care while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of nursing operations during assigned shifts.
  • Manage staffing resources to maintain safe patient care while adhering to approved staffing guidelines and budget parameters.
  • Evaluate staffing needs for the current and upcoming shifts, adjusting assignments based on patient acuity and census.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and counsel nursing personnel to support professional growth and performance improvement.
  • Monitor staff attendance, scheduling, and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Provide clinical expertise in patient placement, bed management, and patient flow.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to maximize efficiency and continuity of care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff by assisting with complex patient care situations and problem resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing leadership, ancillary departments, patients, and families to resolve issues and ensure exceptional patient care.
  • Monitor nursing practice to ensure compliance with evidence-based standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care as needed to support unit operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing approved by a State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse License or valid multistate Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum of one to two (1–2) years of related nursing leadership or clinical experience.
  • Working knowledge of disease management, clinical pathways, and the biopsychosocial model of patient care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict and resolve challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret clinical and operational data.
