Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Geneva, NY Compensation: Up to $41.50 per hour Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 12-hour rotating Continental (2-2-3 / Panama Schedule) shift hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM / 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (rotating) Type: Direct Hire Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality
- Perform line changeovers, setups, and equipment adjustments based on production schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical downtime issues using root cause analysis
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and correct issues identified during inspections
- Utilize CMMS and MES systems to analyze equipment performance and downtime trends
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce equipment failures and improve uptime
- Assist with installation, modification, and rebuilding of production equipment
- Fabricate and repair mechanical components as needed
- Support and train operators and team members on basic maintenance and adjustments
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on process and equipment improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA) and company policies
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred
- Completion of mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or military technical training strongly preferred
- 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, PLCs, and industrial controls
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience with machine shop operations and fabrication techniques
- Familiarity with CMMS and MES systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Ability to train and support team members
- Physically able to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
- Lift up to 40 lbs regularly; occasionally lift up to 60 lbs in accordance with OSHA guidelines
