We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Service Technician specializing in Leister heat welding equipment and industrial commercial roofing tools. In this role, you will diagnose, calibrate, and repair a wide range of hot-air tools, automatic roof welders, and diagnostic equipment essential to low-slope and flat-roof installations. This hands-on technical role ensures our field crews or clients experience minimal downtime and that all machinery operates safely at precise manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

· Equipment Service: Diagnose, service, and repair the complete portfolio of Leister hot-air equipment, including automatic roof welders (VARIMAT 300, 500 and 700, UNIROOF series), semi-automatic tools (UNIDRIVE 500), and handheld hot-air tools (TRIAC ST/AT, NEXHEAT 300 A-LP).

· Component Troubleshooting: Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of heating elements, digital control interfaces (E-drive systems), electric motors, carbon brushes, and electronic control circuits.

· Thermal Calibration: Adjust temperature and airflow parameters to ensure accurate thermal performance for welding single-ply thermoplastic membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM, and modified bitumen).

· General Equipment Service and Maintenance: Maintain and service general equipment, generator setups, and hot-air accessories.

· Service Documentation: Track parts inventory, log components utilized, and document detailed service and repair records within the internal company database.

Qualifications & Experience

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or formal vocational training in electrical systems, mechanical repair, or industrial electronics is preferred.

· Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience. Direct experience repairing Leister plastic welding tools or similar industrial thermal devices is strongly preferred.

· Technical Skills: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, utilizing digital multimeters for electrical diagnostics, and servicing small electric or combustion motors.

· Certifications: Completion of a Leister-certified repair training program or a willingness to undergo manufacturer-led certification pathways at the Leister Academy is preferred.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work within a busy shop environment, and occasionally respond to field-service requests on active construction
