Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and veterinary students with medical procedures, diagnostic tests, and patient care under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian
Prepare patients for examinations, surgeries, and other procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Take and develop x-rays, perform laboratory tests, and collect biopsy samples
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments, medications, and test results
Provide emotional support and education to pet owners, addressing any concerns or questions they may have about their pet's health
Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of patient care
Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician, with a focus on small animal care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pet owners, veterinarians, and other team members
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and technology
