Summary of Responsibilities

The Activities Aide plays an essential role in creating a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful lifestyle for our residents. Through creativity, compassion, and enthusiasm, you'll help plan and lead activities that encourage socialization, physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, and personal fulfillment. Working closely with the Resident Care Director and care team, you'll foster an environment where every resident feels valued, included, and encouraged to live each day to the fullest. Essential Functions

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging group and individual activities that promote residents' physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well-being.
  • Encourage resident participation by creating welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable programs tailored to individual interests and abilities.
  • Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who are unable or choose not to participate in group activities.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate residents with physical limitations, memory loss, or cognitive impairments.
  • Observe resident participation and report changes in mood, behavior, or condition to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Document resident attendance, participation, and activity outcomes in accordance with community policies.
  • Assist with holiday celebrations, special events, entertainment, and community outings.
  • Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and program areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, and choice while creating meaningful daily experiences.
  • Follow all company policies, infection prevention procedures, resident rights, HIPAA requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-Time or Part-Time opportunities available
  • Day Shift with occasional evenings for special events
Requirements:

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
  • Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills when working with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing resident needs and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. (Required)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with older adults, activities programming, caregiving, or a related field (Preferred)

Work Authorization/ Clearances:

  • Criminal History Clearances
  • FBI fingerprint clearance (if required)
  • Pre-employment drug screening (if applicable)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the community for extended periods
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility, including light lifting, guiding, or supporting as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry activity supplies and equipment (up to approximately 25 pounds)
  • Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with resident transport
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, including those with cognitive or sensory impairments
