Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00

(position may potentially be filled as part-time, 20 hrs/wk)


Overview:

The Housing Support Specialist is responsible for supervising program participants who reside in Options’ alcohol-free and drug-free recovery homes. This position requires familiarity with both addiction and mental health recovery issues. The Housing Support Specialist works closely with a variety of community partners. The Housing Support Specialist provides ongoing analysis of program rules, policies and procedures and makes appropriate recommendations, when necessary. Collects and tracks rent, provides referrals, direction, and support to program participants and works collaboratively with a number of Options’ social service programs.

Responsibilities:

Receive and follow up on all applications

Interview and evaluate applicants for placement into program

Provide daily supervision and coordination of Options’ Recovery Homes

Monitor residents to ensure adherence to house rules including UA testing

Facilitate weekly house meetings

Assist clients with goal setting and strategies for success

Collect rents and keep accurate financial records

Monthly shopping for Options’ provided cleaning supplies

Periodically review program rules, policies and procedures, and make appropriate recommendations for change if necessary

Work closely with Residential Management team to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements

Work collaboratively with community partners as well as participate in treatment team meetings when necessary


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and a general understanding of the population served. Strong analytical judgment required and the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences.

Possess business experience sufficient to meet the demands of the position, and computer proficiency is required. Must have strong computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
