About the Role
Onspire is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead our day-to-day financial operations and supervise our Accounting team. In this role, you'll own the full accounting cycle, produce clear and timely reporting, and work closely with our CFO and broader leadership to support sound financial decisions. It's a high-impact position for someone who takes ownership, works with precision, and wants to grow alongside a fast-paced company.
What You'll Do
Financial Operations & Accounting
Manage the full accounting cycle, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP
Oversee billing and invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to clients
Process and manage vendor payments, employee expense reports, and credit card reconciliations
Maintain organized financial records and documentation in support of audits and reviews
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership review
Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide leadership with clear visibility into financial performance
Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, risks, and opportunities across revenue, expenses, and margins
Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with leadership
Payroll & Compliance
Coordinate with our payroll provider to ensure accurate, on-time payroll processing
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, including filings and remittances
Assist with preparation for tax filings and support external accountants or auditors as needed
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure Onspire's financial practices remain current and compliant
Systems & Process Improvement
Serve as the primary owner of our accounting systems (NetSuite experience preferred)
Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve financial workflows
Establish and document internal controls and accounting procedures to support scalability
Collaborate with operations and leadership on financial system improvements and integrations
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with agency leadership to provide financial insight that supports strategic planning and business decisions
Collaborate with project managers and client services teams to ensure accurate project accounting and profitability tracking
Serve as a trusted resource for financial questions across the organization
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1–2 years in a manager or lead capacity
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred); experience with project-based billing a plus
Advanced skills in Excel; comfortable working with financial models and reports
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
Clear communicator who can translate financial data into plain-language insights for non-finance stakeholders
Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a bias toward process improvement
