Position Summary
The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children ages 1–2 years can learn, grow, and thrive. As an ambassador of happiness, the Lead Teacher implements The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, partners with families, and mentors assistant teachers while fostering each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Responsibilities
- Create a warm, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® through hands-on learning experiences.
- Develop weekly lesson plans that support toddlers' developmental milestones.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Assistant Teachers while promoting teamwork and professionalism.
- Ensure the classroom meets all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Complete daily health checks, diapering, toileting, feeding, and supervision while maintaining proper teacher-to-child ratios.
- Observe and document children's developmental progress.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, and parent communication through the school's communication app.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Support center events, family engagement activities, and school-wide initiatives.
- Model positive behavior and uphold The Learning Experience's mission and values every day.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 year of professional childcare or teaching experience required; lead teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for Lead Teachers.

- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and sit on the floor.

- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
