Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in Potsdam, NY. Specialty: ER. Start date: 08/31/2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $1,988–$2,079 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights (1900–0700). Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. Setting: Hospital with an Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients, including non-trauma and trauma presentations.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient-focused nursing care in a high-acuity ED for adult and pediatric patients, including trauma and non-trauma presentations.
- Monitor, interpret, and act on patient vitals and clinical changes; administer medications and IV therapies; manage IV lines, vasopressors, and ventilator support as needed.
- Perform triage, initial assessment, stabilization, and disposition decisions; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary).
- Document care and orders in EPIC; ensure accurate charting and communication using SBAR; participate in handoffs and prompt escalation when indicated.
- Support neuro/trauma care needs (e.g., CVA/stroke, TBI), sepsis/infectious presentations, and behavioral health/medical clearance as appropriate.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, respond to emergencies, and collaborate on care plans for complex or ventilated patients.
Requirements
- Licensure: New York RN license in hand (active)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (required)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience; experience with a 1:5 patient ratio
- Charting: EPIC charting experience required
- Clinical scope: ED with combined adult & pediatric patients (non-trauma and trauma); ability to manage adults, pediatrics, and neuro/trauma cases
- Floating: Floating to related ED or acute care areas as needed
- Scheduling: Night shifts; weekends every other (per posted schedule)
- Pre-start: Orientation of 24 hours
- Travel eligibility: Must reside more than 50 miles from assignment; locals not accepted (note: some internal policy mentions may conflict about distance within 75 miles)
