About the Role:

The Interventional Cardiologist in this part-time role will provide specialized cardiovascular care focused on diagnosing and treating complex heart conditions using catheter-based procedures. The primary objective is to improve patient outcomes through minimally invasive interventions such as angioplasty and stenting, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. This position demands a high level of clinical expertise to evaluate patient conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and perform advanced interventional procedures safely and effectively. The role also involves continuous monitoring of patient progress, managing complications, and educating patients and their families about cardiovascular health and post-procedure care. Ultimately, the Interventional Cardiologist will contribute to advancing the quality of cardiac care within the healthcare facility and the broader community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship in Interventional Cardiology.
  • Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and fractional flow reserve (FFR).
  • Familiarity with clinical research and participation in cardiology-related studies.
  • Additional certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within a hospital or academic medical center setting.
  • Strong background in patient education and community cardiovascular health initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures including angioplasty, stenting, and atherectomy.
  • Evaluate patients with complex cardiovascular diseases and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with cardiology teams, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress during and after interventions, managing any complications promptly and effectively.
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care to optimize long-term cardiovascular health.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Document all clinical findings, procedures, and patient interactions accurately in medical records.
