Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 175-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in West Babylon, NY, dedicated to providing exceptional care and a welcoming experience for every resident. We are currently seeking an Resident Service Coordinator to support the admission process while helping ensure a welcoming and positive experience for residents, families, and visitors.
Responsibilities
Welcome new residents, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Assist with the admission process, including completing admission agreements and required paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Process new admissions and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Assist with check-in and orientation for new residents and their families.
Coordinate with hospitals, insurance providers, and internal departments regarding prospective and incoming admissions.
Coordinate with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure resident rooms are prepared and ready prior to new admissions.
Help ensure necessary supplies, equipment, and other arrangements are in place prior to a resident's arrival.
Provide information about facility services, amenities, daily activities, therapy schedules, dining options, and other resources.
Respond to resident and family questions or concerns and direct them to the appropriate department when necessary.
Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and facility staff to help facilitate effective communication and a positive experience.
Support admissions and marketing efforts, including assisting with tours and providing information about the facility.
Monitor visitor access and maintain visitor logs in accordance with facility policies.
Document and follow up on resident and family service requests as needed.
Assist with various administrative and resident-facing tasks to support the overall resident experience.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-2 years of healthcare experience required. Experience in admissions, medical administration, front desk coordination, insurance verification, scheduling, patient services, or similar healthcare roles is preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, referral sources, and staff.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using electronic record systems.
Experience using online referral platforms, including Navi and Allscripts, is preferred.
Multilingual ability is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and sensitivity to confidential information is a plus.
