About the Role:
The Panela Processing Associate for the 2nd shift plays a critical role in the production and quality assurance of panela, a traditional unrefined whole cane sugar product. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring processing equipment to ensure the efficient and safe transformation of raw sugarcane into high-quality panela blocks. The associate will collaborate closely with team members to maintain production schedules, adhere to safety protocols, and uphold product standards. Attention to detail and consistency are essential to guarantee that the final product meets both company specifications and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success of the production line by ensuring smooth operations during the second shift and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule consistently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate processing equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience specifically in sugar or panela production processes.
- Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP or GMP.
- Basic computer skills for logging production data and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Prior training in workplace safety and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor panela processing machinery and equipment during the 2nd shift to maintain consistent production flow.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisory team promptly.
- Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Skills:
The required skills such as mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential for operating and monitoring processing equipment accurately and safely on a daily basis. Communication skills enable the associate to effectively report issues and collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain production quality. Preferred skills like familiarity with food safety standards and basic computer literacy enhance the associate's ability to contribute to compliance and documentation tasks. Problem-solving skills are used to identify and address equipment or process issues promptly, minimizing downtime. Overall, these skills ensure the associate can maintain efficient production flow while upholding safety and quality standards throughout the shift.
