Summary

NCGA’s Director, D.C. Office Operations, maintains NCGA's Washington D.C. office.


Reports to: NCGA Vice President – Public Policy


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the DC Office
  • Oversee budgets of PAC and DC Office Administration
  • Work with Director of Advocacy and Political Strategy to support day-to-day CornPAC operations and events.
  • Staff CornPAC Committee along with Vice President and Director of Public Policy and Political Strategy
  • Ensure Lobbying Disclosure Act Compliance for the organization
  • Monitor and ensure FEC compliance for all PAC activities and reports
  • Act as Executive Assistant for Vice President
  • Work with Vice President to maintain positive DC Office culture
  • Manage the Public Policy Assistant and DC interns
  • Staff for the Communications and Education Action Team.
  • Facilitate NCGA meetings hosted in DC.
  • Lead the NCGA internal resolutions and policy creation process


Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Ability to work in collaborative team setting.
  • Ability to work with constantly changing priorities and under challenging timelines
  • Ability to manage activities of grower members and leaders
  • Able to work independently and make educated decisions
  • Organized, detail oriented and good at time management
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Basic understanding of agriculture
  • Event planning experience


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • At least five years of experience

Travel

Requires travel (20-25%). Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $110,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience.
