Operator IV – Ozone Operator

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Purpose

The Operator IV – Ozone Operator is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and adjustment of ozone processing equipment to support daily production. This role ensures systems operate within established safety and quality parameters while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.


Key ResponsibilitiesOperations
  • Start up and shut down ozone processing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, production schedules, and plant conditions
  • Monitor key operating parameters and make process adjustments to maintain safe, stable, and efficient production
  • Perform routine field rounds to inspect tanks, piping, valves, instrumentation, compressors, and ozone generation systems
  • Identify abnormal conditions and take appropriate corrective action or escalate issues to supervision or maintenance
  • Communicate operational status, issues, and priorities during shift handoffs
Safety
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures outlined in the SH&E program
  • Wear required PPE at all times, including respiratory protection when applicable
  • Complete required safety training and actively participate in safety meetings
  • Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and hazard identification initiatives
  • Immediately report safety concerns, near misses, and equipment issues
Quality
  • Collect process samples and utilize test results to make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and applicable procedures
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits as required
Administrative / Housekeeping
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe control room and work environment
  • Accurately complete production logs, shift reports, and operational documentation
  • Follow all procedures related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and work permitting

Work Schedule
  • Must be able to work a 8-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications
  • Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or ozone processing strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret instrumentation, P&IDs, production instructions, and safety documentation
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including climbing, lifting, and wearing required PPE
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and effective communication
