About the Company

Sprinkles Donut Shop is a fast-growing bakery known for our fresh donuts, pastries, and specialty desserts. With multiple retail locations and a thriving wholesale operation, we pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and a warm, family-like team culture. We’re looking for a people-focused HR Generalist to help us continue building a talented and engaged team that brings joy through baking.

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on HR Specialist who is passionate about supporting a dynamic, fast-paced bakery environment. In this role, you’ll manage the full employee lifecycle while helping us navigate the unique needs of the foodservice and retail bakery industry — including seasonal staffing, hourly workforce management, and maintaining a positive, safety-conscious workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition: Manage full-cycle recruiting for bakers, pastry chefs, retail associates, production staff, and support roles. Source talent through local networks, job boards, and bakery-specific channels.
  • Employee Relations: Provide day-to-day HR support to bakery managers and team members, handling scheduling conflicts, performance issues, and fostering a positive work environment across early-morning and weekend shifts.
  • Onboarding & Training: Design and deliver engaging onboarding programs for new bakers and front-of-house staff, including food safety (ServSafe), allergen awareness, and bakery operations training.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to food industry regulations, labor laws, OSHA standards, and proper wage & hour practices for non-exempt hourly employees.
  • Benefits & Payroll Support: Administer benefits enrollment and assist with payroll questions, time-off requests, and shift differentials.
  • Performance Management: Support performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development plans tailored to a creative, production-driven environment.
  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate records in HRIS, track turnover and retention metrics, and generate reports on staffing levels during peak seasons (holidays, weddings, etc.).
  • Special Projects: Lead employee engagement initiatives such as team-building events, wellness programs, employee appreciation days, and bakery staff discount programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of HR Specialist experience, ideally in foodservice, retail, hospitality, or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and compliance in a multi-shift, hourly workforce environment.
  • Experience with high-volume seasonal hiring is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (ADP) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • ServSafe or food safety knowledge is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse teams — from early-morning bakers to creative pastry artists to front-of-house retail staff.
What We Offer
  • Competitive wage, based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits: Health with company match
  • Employee discount
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
