Overview
Registered Nurse – Perioperative/PACU (Phase I & Phase II) in Rochester, New York. Start date: 08/24/2026. Assignment length: Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,076–$2,220 per week. Guaranteed hours: None. Shift: 4x10 Days. This travel assignment supports a short-term acute care, teaching hospital setting with a 27-bed PACU unit that handles Phase I & Phase II recovery for a broad perioperative case mix.

Responsibilities
- Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care after surgical procedures, including airway and ventilation monitoring, hemodynamic stability, pain management (including PCA), and recovery surveillance for endoscopy, laparoscopy, general, orthopedics (including spine/total joints), and other perioperative cases.
- Monitor EKG, interpret ABGs as needed, and respond promptly to changes in patient status; maintain patient safety and comfort during recovery.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social work, transport, unit secretary, rapid response) to ensure smooth postoperative care and timely disposition.
- Manage documentation in Epic per unit policy; ensure accurate, timely charting of assessments, treatments, and patient progress.
- Maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios (3:1) and participate in on-call expectations as assigned; contribute to a collaborative PACU environment.
- Provide care for pediatric/adolescent and adult patients; support family communication and transition planning as appropriate.

Requirements
- NY RN license required in hand to submit
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Epic charting experience required
- Pre-approved time off restrictions: RTO not to exceed 10 days
- Unit requires ability to work in a PACU environment with Phase I/II recovery; pediatric/adult populations included
- Location restriction: Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; locals within 75 miles will not be considered
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
