1st Five Developmental Support Specialist

What You'll Do

As a 1st Five Developmental Support Specialist, you'll make a real difference by:

  • Partnering with families to support healthy child development.
  • Building relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.
  • Empowering parents with education, guidance, and support.
  • Build trusting relationships with families while serving as a guide and advocate throughout their child's developmental journey.
  • Conduct developmental screenings and developmental monitoring.
  • Connect families with medical, dental, behavioral health, and community resources.
  • Coordinate referrals and help families overcome barriers to accessing care, including scheduling appointments, transportation, and identifying payment resources.
  • Provide education and anticipatory guidance that promotes healthy child development.
  • Assist with quality assurance activities, chart audits, and documentation.
  • Maintain timely, accurate records while meeting agency and grant reporting requirements.
  • Represent Firefly professionally through community outreach and partnerships

What You Bring

Qualifications include:

  • Minimal Education/Qualifications: Salary is dependent of level of education

  • Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
    • 1. a bachelor’s degree in education, health education, social work, counseling, nursing, sociology, family and consumer sciences, health and human development, individual and family studies, early childhood, psychology or other health related field; or Registered Nurse; or Licensed Practical Nurse. (Salary range $20.44 - $23.20)
    • 2. an associate’s degree in early childhood, family/human services or a closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of full-time 26 work experience with children and families.(Salary range $19.89 - $22.65)
    • 3. at least four years of a combination of education and/or full-time work experience in early childhood, family/human services or a closely related field working with children and families
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout our six-county service area
