Responsibilities
- Installation execution: Prepare sites, assemble components, and position runway beams, bridge systems, hoists, and electrical systems in coordination with the team.
- Pre-installation planning: Review blueprints, verify measurements, and plan sequences that minimize disruption to customers.
- Testing & handover: Complete installations to manufacturer/industry standards, then test and verify systems before customer handover.
- Rigging expertise: Select gear, determine sling arrangements and lift angles, and inspect equipment for defects and proper load ratings.
- Equipment operation: Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and mobile cranes with precision in confined spaces.
- Safety & coordination: Maintain clear communication during critical lifts to protect people, facilities, and equipment.
Requirements
- Experience & education: Minimum 2 years in industrial equipment installation with rigging and heavy equipment operation experience; high school diploma or equivalent required, technical certification in rigging/crane operations preferred, and a valid driver's license for site travel.
- Rigging & technical knowledge: Proven ability to select rigging equipment, calculate loads, determine sling angles, and choose hardware, with strong knowledge of OSHA rigging/lifting regulations and the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Additional skills: Basic electrical knowledge and experience with hand and power tools used in industrial settings.
- Physical capabilities: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, operate lifts at height, navigate uneven terrain, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain stamina and visual acuity for detailed work throughout a full shift.
- Work environment: Comfort working in industrial settings with dust, noise, temperature variation, and occasional outdoor/adverse weather conditions.
- Travel requirements: Willingness to travel to customer sites regionally and nationally, including overnight stays for longer installations.
