Position Summary:

The Fire & Emergency Parts Specialist has a broad knowledge of commercial truck parts and accessories. He or she can accurately answer customer questions and satisfy any customer requirements in person, through email or on the phone. In addition, he or she would locate commercial truck parts within the current inventory or from other sources online or through vendors or internal dealerships and arrange them for pickup, delivery and or installation. He or she will also be responsible for monitoring parts inventory to ensure that what is needed is on hand. In addition, he or she will be responsible for communicating with customers regarding the status of their orders, and any other issues or questions they might ask.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors parts inventory and reports discrepancies to Parts Manager
  • Updates customers on all currentpromotions and promotes all new products
  • Monitors retail zone andreplenishstocking levels of products on display and reports out of stockproducts in the retail zoneimmediatelyto the Parts Manager
  • Maintains professional appearance of the retail zone
  • Greetingwalk-in customers in a friendly manner andacknowledgetheir presence if they are on a phone call
  • Assistcustomers withpickup ofheavy or oversized products when necessary
  • Collects payment for special order parts prior to ordering
  • Advises customers on warranty of products
  • Exhausts all resources to fulfill customer demand
  • Records lost sales when customer demand cannot be filled
  • Advisingcustomers about any back orders or delays to their orders
  • Contacts customers when their order has been received
  • Ensurecustomer accounts are invoiced accurately
  • Attends all department meetings and huddles on time
  • Provide excellent customer experience
  • Locate parts and accessories and arrange for pick-up, delivery and or installation
  • Maintainaccuratesales documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles,accessoriesand promotions
  • Maintain personal work area in a clean and organized manner
  • Monitor parts inventory andmaintainstorage area in good condition
  • Manage, part ordering for warranty claims and road techs 
  • Have a basic understanding of mechanics and heavy-duty chassis
  • Excellent record keeping and track of multiple orders
  • Knowledge of warranty parts replacement and vendor systems 
  • Knowledge of CDK and/or other ERP systems
  • Team player with excellent customer service skills 
  • Basic math and comprehension skills 
  • Excellent data and record keeping skillsrequired 
  • Fire & emergency knowledge wanted but not necessarily needed
  • Able tolift upto 50lbswith the ability to climb if needed
  • Familiar with finding comparable parts  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school or GEDrequired
  • Previouswork experience in related fields preferred
  • Working knowledge of the industry
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability tomaintaincomposure during high stress situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Strong computer and internet skills
