Job Summary

GCP PAPER USA, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Bilingual HR Specialist with 1 to 2 years of experience to support daily human resources, payroll administration, and employee relations at our manufacturing facility. You will serve as a primary contact for plant employees, maintaining strict compliance with timecards, workplace safety, and labor regulations while fostering a productive plant environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Timecard & Payroll Auditing: Perform weekly audits of plant employee timecards for accuracy, track meal breaks and overtime, and resolve daily payroll questions.

  • Bilingual Employee Engagement: Facilitate new-hire onboarding, orientations, and daily communications in both English and Spanish for plant personnel.

  • Compliance & Safety Records: Maintain accurate employee files, process FLSA/DOL documentation, track OSHA incident logs, and assist with Workers' Compensation claims.

  • Attendance & Disciplinary Tracking: Monitor absenteeism, record disciplinary notices, and track leave-of-absence requests according to company policy.

  • Recruitment & Hiring Support: Coordinate job postings, schedule interviews, and process pre-employment screening for plant and office vacancies.

  • Policy & Quality Culture: Support environmental campaigns and ensure corporate policies (including ISO 9001:2015 and FSC standards) are integrated into plant onboarding.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of HR experience (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent working experience).

  • Language: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required for plant communications and orientations.

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic to intermediate understanding of US labor laws (FLSA, OSHA, EEO) and payroll/HRIS software.

  • Environment: Comfortable spending time on the active production floor adhering to safety protocols (safety boots and glasses required).
