The Vache Soghomonian Agency in Simi Valley is seeking a driven and customer-focused Licensed Insurance Sales Representative to join our Farmers Insurance agency team.


In this position, you will connect with individuals and families, identify their insurance needs, and help them select coverage designed to protect their property and financial well-being. You will manage new sales opportunities, follow up with prospective customers, and build lasting customer relationships.


The ideal candidate is confident, personable, organized, and motivated by achieving measurable sales results. Applicants must already hold an active California Property and Casualty insurance license to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with prospective customers by phone, email, text, and in person.
  • Respond promptly to leads generated through agency marketing, referrals, and online sources.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand each customers insurance needs and priorities.
  • Prepare insurance quotes and present available coverage solutions.
  • Sell auto, home, renters, umbrella, life, and other insurance products offered through the agency.
  • Educate customers about coverage limits, deductibles, discounts, exclusions, and available policy options.
  • Recommend additional products when they provide meaningful protection for the customer.
  • Follow up with prospective customers until a purchasing decision has been made.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of active sales opportunities.
  • Document customer conversations, quote activity, and future follow-up dates in agency systems.
  • Work toward established goals for calls, conversations, quotes, policies, and written premium.
  • Overcome common sales objections and confidently guide customers toward a decision.
  • Request referrals and identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
  • Attend agency meetings, product training, coaching sessions, and sales practice activities.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service throughout the sales process.

Requirements
  • Active California Property and Casualty insurance license is required.
  • License must be current and in good standing at the time of hire.
  • California Life and Health insurance license is preferred but not required.
  • Previous insurance sales or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with prospective customers.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate coverage solutions.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working toward individual sales goals.
  • Ability to handle objections and confidently ask for the sale.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable using quoting platforms, customer relationship management systems, and other agency software.
  • Reliable attendance and a professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other agency team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
