ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Barback supports the bar team by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar environment. This role ensures bartenders have the tools and supplies needed to deliver exceptional beverage service while upholding the restaurant's standards for cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Stock and replenish glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, spirits, wine, beer, and bar supplies throughout each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar, including workstations, storage areas, coolers, and service equipment.
- Wash, polish, and sanitize glassware, bar tools, and equipment to fine dining presentation standards.
- Assist bartenders with beverage preparation, garnish prep, and other bar support duties during service.
- Remove empty bottles, trash, and recyclables while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to bartenders or management.
- Complete opening, closing, stocking, and side-work responsibilities.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and responsible service standards.
- Support bartenders, servers, and management to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional guest experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–2 years of experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of bar operations, beverage products, and service standards is preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and maintain attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and positive, service-oriented attitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, including kegs, cases of beverages, ice, and bar supplies.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, and repetitive motions while stocking, cleaning, and preparing the bar.
- Ability to safely operate in a fast-paced environment with exposure to wet surfaces, refrigeration, kitchen heat, and cleaning products.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members in a moderate to high noise environment.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
