Assistant Delivery Manager Overview
The Assistant Delivery Manager willassisttheDeliverymanagerwithdelivery and warehouse operations in the assigned location. This position will help with managing, scheduling, routing, unloading, staging, and inventory processes. The cornerstone of USTs growth and success is built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - simply known internally as E3.
Compensation: $57,000-$62,500
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
- Acts asmanager on duty when the Delivery Manager isabsent
- Assists Delivery Managermonitorweekly reports to ensure financialobjectivesare beingmet
- Assists Delivery Managermonitorweekly settlements to ensure contractors' goals are beingachieved
- Assists Delivery Manager to ensure all operations areoperatingin compliance with DOT and OSHArequirements
- Assiststhe delivery department in accomplishing delivery and qualitystandards
- Communicates with stores, customers,contractorsand Market Managementdaily
- Conducts ride behind and evaluations of contractors todetermineskill levels and developmentopportunities
- Coordinates with customer service to ensure that all customers aresatisfied
- Ensures all claims are charged back to theappropriatedriver
- Ensures that maintenance of all delivery and service vehiclesarecompleted
- Ensures the scheduling department achieves all daily shippinggoals
- Establishes andmaintainsa positive working relationship with all team members and other storepersonnel
- Manages routing team to include cost control andefficiency
- Overseesaccurateand efficient loading of all vehicles for the delivery of retail home products to the end consumer (last mile)
- Oversees the warehouse and inventory control processes to ensure the inventorys integrity ismaintained
Requirements
- Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and someholidays
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Possess effective written and verbalcommunication
- Previousexperience in Warehouse or Distribution operations
- Valid Drivers License
