JOB TITLE: Dishwasher

EMPLOYER: Pinx Catering

DEPARTMENT: Kitchen

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef

SUMMARY: Our Dishwashers play a crucial support role in our kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. They ensure that all kitchen tools, equipment, and dishes are cleaned efficiently and properly stored to support food preparation and service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to food safety standards

  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, including sinks, dish machines, and floors

  • Assist with the cleanliness and organization of kitchen storage areas, including walk-ins, dry storage, and equipment rooms

  • Take out trash and recycling, and maintain waste management standards

  • Return clean kitchen items to appropriate stations for use by culinary staff

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Executive Chef or kitchen leadership

  • Support the kitchen team in general cleaning tasks and end-of-shift breakdowns

  • Ensure safe handling of chemicals and cleaning products in compliance with company policies and regulations

  • Work Private Events as assigned by the Leadership team

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

  • And other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)

  • 1+ year of experience in a commercial kitchen or janitorial role (preferred)

  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification (within first week of employment)

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

  • Able to take direction and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Flexible schedule

  • Reliable transportation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

  • Required protective clothing: non-slip shoes

  • Frequent exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and humid environments
