Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk and lobby area, ensuring it remains welcoming, clean, and safe for all staff and visitors. This role is essential for coordinating communication across the organization, handling central telephone systems, and providing administrative support to various departments. * This role does not have guaranteed hours, but the individual will have the opportunity to pick up shifts as needed to assist with call-offs, vacations, training coverage, and other staffing needs. The number of hours can vary from week to week based on program needs and the employee's availability, making it a great option for someone looking for flexibility. *

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited high school.
  • Experience: One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Moderate to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned according to the qualifications of staff and the development of programs.

  • Respond to all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Greet guests and visitors with a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including distribution and processing.
  • Create, copy, and distribute memos and organizational forms as required.
  • Facilitate fax communications, ensuring documents are distributed and read daily.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the reception and storage areas.
  • Update and maintain vital data, including daily census and admission/discharge records.
  • Manage entries in the Canvas application and enter survey questionnaire data.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate data within the My Avatar software and other KVC databases.
  • Generate correspondence and administrative reports as requested by leadership.
