Full-Time | Northville, MI
About MI Skin Center:
At MI Skin Center, we believe exceptional patient care begins with an exceptional team.
Our practice combines medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where every day brings new learning opportunities. We are committed to developing outstanding healthcare professionals by providing meaningful hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth.
We are looking for a Medical Assistant who is a team player, eager to learn, embraces working in high paced clinics, and is excited to contribute to a high-performing team. We want someone who will stay long term, grow in this position, and eventually lead high functioning teams. This position is ideal for someone looking for a career in dermatology. We also have openings for gap-year medical students, pre-pa's, pre-nursing, and other related healthcare tracks that want to grow while having fun.
What Makes Someone Successful Here?
- Our best Medical Assistants are curious, resilient, driven, can handle constructive feedback. They enjoy learning and take pride in continuously improving their skills and helping our patients.
- Instead of asking "what should I do next ?", we want team members asking "what else can I do for the team"?
- If you like working with a team that strives for excellence with a bit of humor, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do:
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology visits.
- Prepare examination and procedure rooms for efficient patient care.
- Accurately collect patient histories and document encounters within the electronic medical record.
- Assist with biopsies, surgeries, wound care, injections, and other dermatologic procedures.
- Prepare laboratory specimens and maintain accurate documentation.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and post-procedure care.
- Help maintain smooth patient flow while adapting to changing priorities throughout the day.
- Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Medical Assistant or healthcare experience.
- Experience scribing in a medical setting.
- Dermatology, surgery, or specialty practice experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Preference is for Full-Time (4–5 days per week), but we are open to part time as well.
- 8–10 hour shifts.
- Wednesday and Thursday availability is required.
- Starting pay $14.50+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- We are seeking candidates who can commit to at least 12 months, with longer-term availability strongly preferred.
Why Join MI Skin Center?
- Work alongside experienced dermatology providers in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
- Gain valuable clinical experience that prepares you for future healthcare careers.
- Comprehensive training, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
- Opportunities for increased responsibility and career growth.
- Health insurance and paid time off for eligible employees.
- Employee discounts on cosmetic dermatology services.
- A supportive team culture that values excellent medical care, compassion, accountability, and continuous learning.
