About This Role

Gingerbread House Learning Center seeks an Early Childhood Teacher to oversee classroom operations and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children to thrive. To excel in this role, teachers must possess a deep understanding of child development and be able to create a nurturing space that encourages children to succeed. What You'll Do

  • Develop a warm and welcoming classroom atmosphere that fosters a sense of security and belonging for children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the highest standards of quality in our classrooms.
  • Establish and consistently implement childcare routines that meet Missouri State Licensing Rules and Regulations, ensuring a seamless and safe experience for children.
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments and implement measures to ensure child safety, including constant supervision, safe space arrangement, equipment maintenance, and regular emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Proactively maintain a healthy and clean classroom environment, adhering to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards to ensure the well-being of children.


Requirements

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma
  2. Must possess a warm and supportive attitude towards children
  3. Be willing to complete infant/child CPR and First Aid training
  4. Complete a full background check and pass a health screening
  5. Able to use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, crawl and take frequent walks
  6. The ability to work effectively with others (staff, children, and parents) and contribute to a team-oriented environment.


Nice To Haves

  • 12+ Clock Hours in Continuing Education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE
  • 2 years of professional child care experience at a licensed center
