The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in inpatient, outpatient, and oncology pharmacy settings, ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
Responsibilities:
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Duties:
- Prepare sterile products and perform pharmaceutical calculations for various preparations.
- Adhere strictly to sterile procedures and maintain equipment.
- Prepare and fill physician orders for IV solutions, parenteral, and inpatient unit dose orders.
- Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure sterility of IV products.
- Participate in quality assurance data collection and review.
Qualifications:
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years as an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy technician.
- Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a similar program, including military training programs.
- Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
- Compliance with applicable state laws concerning the profession.
- Fully trained and qualified to provide high-quality services.
- Stability and continuity in the workforce to ensure uninterrupted performance of all tasks.
- Adherence to professional practice standards and TJC standards
