What you'll do:

  • Oversee daily food service operations, including preparation, purchasing, budgeting, storage, and inventory rotation
  • Recruit, hire, and train dietary staff; provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed
  • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Manage staffing levels to align with department PPD targets
  • Ensure meals are prepared to meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and prescribed diets
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portioning standards
  • Verify proper food temperatures and ensure compliance with safety procedures
  • Assist with meal service and cover cook or dietary aide shifts as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations

What we're looking for:

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential through the Academy of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals required
  • Active ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent food safety certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of experience in a geriatric or long-term care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of federal regulations for skilled nursing or post-acute care settings
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-100 lbs. and handle equipment or supplies
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Full range of motion to perform job-related tasks
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices) and ability to meet facility health requirements
