Groundskeeper

SUMMARY

Landscape or maintain grounds of Casino property using hand or power tools or equipment. Grounds Keeper will perform a variety of tasks, which may include: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of groundskeeping machines and tools.
• Mows lawns, using a power mower.
• Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
• Rakes and collects leaves into bags.
• Cleans grounds and removes trash and debris.
• Seeds and fertilize the lawn.
• Maintains outside irrigation.
• Plants include grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Decorate the garden with stones and plants.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmowers, spreaders, etc.
• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be certified by the Cocopah Tribal Gaming Office.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; a combination of education or experience may be considered.
• 1-year prior experience in landscaping.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

In the entertainment industry, one may be subject to a work environment containing excessive noise, smoke, and stress.
