Assistant Guide
Our school is seeking a thoughtful, dependable Assistant Guide to join our Montessori community. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, values respectful guidance, and is excited to support a calm, purposeful classroom environment.

Position Overview
The Assistant Guide plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Guide and maintaining a prepared environment that allows children to thrive. This is a hands-on position requiring patience, observation, and a genuine respect for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a calm, orderly, and engaging Montessori classroom
  • Assist children with daily routines while encouraging independence
  • Observe children and follow the guidance of the Lead Guide regarding classroom flow and individual needs
  • Help prepare and care for Montessori materials and the classroom environment
  • Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication with children
  • Assist with transitions, outdoor time, meals, and hygiene routines
  • Maintain health, safety, and licensing standards at all times
  • Communicate professionally with staff and families

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children (Montessori experience preferred, not required)
  • A genuine interest in Montessori philosophy and child-led learning
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and grow within Montessori practices
  • Must meet state licensing requirements (background check, CPR/First Aid, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $16 - $20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
