SALES ASSOCIATE - ROCKTANE - PT

OVERVIEW:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for being the ultimate guide through the guests’ Rocktane Gas and retail experience. Hard Rock merchandise is a unique part of our business, which requires a special person to create the experience. As Rocktane Attendant, you will be assuming the role of tour guide, communicator, entertainer, memorabilia curator and musician.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Rocktane their choice for their gas station and retail needs; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations by providing superior guest service. Exudes Hard Rock Mottos to create excellent first and last impression for all guests.
• Greets guests arriving and departing, answers the phone, and answers questions accurately and politely.
• Makes proficient sales transactions using a point-of-sale system; handles cash and other forms of payment; maintains proper cash drawer balances.
• Directs guests to different areas of the property.
• Demonstrates impeccable product knowledge by determining guests’ needs through actively engaging in conversations with them and informing guests of product features and benefits.
• Uses proven suggestive selling techniques (i.e. Related items, higher-quality items, transitional phrases).
• Maintains a clean and organized store; maintains proper product stock levels through retail pulls and inventories.
• Displays retail product through Hard Rock’s visual display standards.
• Performs opening, closing, and side duties including but not limited to cleaning glass, polishing brass, sweeping, and vacuuming, folding products, taking out trash, etc.
• Assures the complete satisfaction of each and every guest by creating memorable experiences.
• Attends and participates in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
• Performs work regularly and predictably.
• Attends to needs of all guests within Rocktane in an efficient manner, and specifically follows all established safety protocol.
• Answers questions about the property, upcoming events, contacts, and provide directions as needed.
• Resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers, Supervisors and Managers.
• Operates IT System’s (Agilysis POS, Micros, Fuel Pump Software, and other retail and gas station related equipment).
• Assists guests as needed in paying, utilizing, or answering questions about available products.
• Meets Hard Rock standard for grooming, uniform, and attire.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or related experience.

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

• Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.

• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Cashiering/money handling experience in making accurate change in a fast-paced environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must possess ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.

• Must have extensive cashiering experience using a cash register.

• Must have exceptional guest service skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and other team members.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions standing/walking for long periods of time.

• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
• Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
• Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
• Restock needed materials and retrieve dropped items.
• Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make correct change.
• Use machines and equipment including, but not limited to: include cash register system, credit card machines, and calculator.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The Rocktane Gas Station is located outdoors and as such there is exposure to all weather conditions.
• Work environment includes exposure to gas and diesel fumes.
• Environment can be hectic and fast-paced.
