Job Description
Registered Nurse – Infusion in an outpatient infusion setting, Utica, NY. This travel temporary assignment starts on 09/14/2026 for a 13-week contract with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The position offers 8-hour day shifts (5 days per week) and involves chemotherapy administration in an adult and geriatric patient population. Chemo-certified clinicians are needed to support a busy infusion unit utilizing modern clinical systems.

Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and other infusions to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient infusion unit; monitor patient responses and manage infusion-related adverse events
- Compile and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and coordinate with the care team on treatment plans
- Operate infusion devices (Alaris pumps, elastomeric pumps) and manage medication administration using Omnicell; document all administrations and supplies
- Perform routine patient assessments before, during, and after infusions; monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer blood products when indicated and participate in fast-paced patient flow while maintaining safety and infection control standards
- Communicate with patients and caregivers, providing education on treatment, side effects, and follow-up care; collaborate with oncology, neurology, GI, and other specialties as needed
- Maintain compliance with BLS, ACLS, and chemotherapy safety protocols; participate in floating assignments to support unit coverage
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in outpatient infusion or a closely related setting
- Chemotherapy certification required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with outpatient infusion population (adult and geriatric)
- Proficiency with EPIC, Omnicell, Ascom, and glucometers; familiarity with Alaris and elastomeric pumps
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient infusion environment and to float to related units as needed
