Position Available: Recreation Specialist
Are you passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact? This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing or considering careers in Early Childhood Education, Elementary or Secondary Education, School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Recreation Therapy, Youth Development, or any field focused on working with children and adolescents. Gain valuable hands-on experience while helping students develop confidence, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles in a supportive residential setting.
We are seeking a Full-time Recreation Specialist to provide engaging recreational and leisure activities that support our mission of helping students build confidence, emotional well-being, optimism, and independence. By balancing academic and vocational training with fun, meaningful activities, Recreation Specialists play an important role in helping students succeed.

Monday: 1:00pm-10:00pm

Tuesday: 1:00pm-10:00pm

Wednesday: 11:00am-8:00pm

Thursday: 1:00pm-10:00pm

Friday: 2:30pm-11:30pm


Rotating Weekend hours:

Saturday: 2:30pm-11:30pm

Sunday: 1:00pm-10:00pm

Our facility features an impressive weight room, arts and crafts room, basketball and volleyball courts, and opportunities for off-center activities such as hiking, paintball, photography, community events, and more. Whether your talents include sports, fitness, music, art, gaming, photography, or another hobby, we encourage you to share your interests and inspire our students.
Duties
  • Organize and supervise on- and off-center recreational activities.
  • Develop and implement diverse programs, including arts and crafts, intramurals, cultural events, and enrichment activities.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, fitness, nutrition, and positive decision-making.
  • Prepare recreation schedules and activity calendars.
  • Coordinate student field trips and special events.
  • Maintain recreation facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Track program attendance and participation.
  • Transport students to and from center-sponsored activities.
  • Recognize and reinforce positive student behavior.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience working with youth preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
