Math & Literacy Tutor (Part-Time, Push-In Support)
Location: Atlanta, GA (In-Person)
Schedule: Part-time | 2–3 mornings per week, 8:00–11:30 AM
Grade Levels: Kindergarten–6th Grade
Compensation: $35/hour
Funding Source: Title I (APS-aligned role)
The Morgan Oliver School is seeking a Math & Literacy Tutor to provide push-in academic support across K–6 classrooms. This role focuses on targeted literacy and math instruction within the classroom setting, working closely with lead teachers to support students who benefit from additional scaffolding.
Because this position is funded through Title I, candidates must be current Atlanta Public Schools (APS) employees or willing to apply to and work through APS.
Responsibilities
- Provide push-in support in K–6 classrooms during the school day
- Deliver targeted instruction in elementary math and literacy aligned with classroom goals
- Support students in small groups and brief 1:1 moments within the classroom
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership
- Track student progress and share concise updates as needed
- Use strengths-based, developmentally appropriate instructional practices
Required Qualifications
- Current APS employment or willingness to apply and work through APS
- Availability 2–3 mornings per week between 8:00–11:30 AM
- Math credentials and Reading Specialist certification
- Training in Orton-Gillingham (OG) or a comparable structured literacy approach
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K–6)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with push-in or intervention-based instructional models
- Familiarity with Title I environments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
